Hatch and LG U+ to bring 5G VR gaming to Korea
Partnership also brings Hatch cloud gaming to LG U+ customers with Android TV set top boxes
Hatch Entertainment and Korean telecommunications company LG Uplus Corporation (LG U+) are collaborating to bring new 5G VR gaming experiences to Korea, while also bringing Hatch into the living rooms of LG U+ subscribers with Android TV set top boxes.
Hatch’s cloud gaming service will provide LG U+ subscribers with more than 100 full-featured, premium games on demand with no paywalls, limits or in-game purchasing beyond the flat monthly fee. Users can alternatively play a limited selection of games at no charge.
Hatch and LG U+ will also work together on developing an exclusive 5G VR gaming offering. LG U+ will support Hatch in bringing gaming content and services to Korean consumers based on the existing LG U+ TV service offering and soon-to launch VR platform.
“Hatch is the leading mobile game streaming service provider in the 5G era,” says YoonHo Choi, Head of VR Service at LG U+. “We are impressed with their customer-centric way of developing new services and their Netflix-like new experiences. Working together with Hatch will help us develop our 5G VR game service that brings tremendous benefit to our customers.”
“We’re excited to begin working together with a 5G innovator like LG U+ to bring exclusive VR experiences to Korean consumers,” says Gunjan Garg, director of commercial partnerships at Hatch. “Hatch, which lets consumers play seamlessly between mobile and TV, is also a natural fit with LG U+ ambitions for Android TV in the Korean market, and we look forward to a close collaboration.”
