Hatch and Assembly team up for the love of great party games
Hatch Entertainment has teamed up with Assembly Summer 2018 to create the Best Party Game competition at Finland’s legendary demoscene and gaming event. Hatch will award cash prizes of up to 1200 euros to the best party games presented at Assembly, held at the Helsinki Messukeskus August 2-5.
“We believe that games are better when played together,” says Hatch’s Head of Community Tiina Leinonen. “That’s why we’re coming to Assembly Summer 2018 to recognize and celebrate the best party games and the most original and fun multiplayer experiences. May the best party starters win!”
All entries for the Assembly Game Development compo for two or more players are automatically also added to the Party Game compo. Games can work on any platform or piece of hardware, and must adhere to Assembly Game Development competition rules.
The winners will be selected by four-person jury:
- Super Strong Duke, promotion director, Hinotama JP, ex-TAITO & EA
- Juhani Honkala, founder and CEO, Hatch
- Mari Pudas, journalist, Iltalehti
- Peter Vesterbacka, cofounder, Lightneer and Fun Academy
The prize for first place is 1200 euros; second place, 600 euros; third place, 400 euros. Prizes are paid in addition to any other prizes won at Assembly, should the developer win those as well.
Developers entering the competition retain all rights to their work. If there is any further discussion between game creators and Hatch regarding the distribution or publishing of their work, that is a separate matter.
